The Michelin Primacy 4 is a summer tyre designed for executive and passenger vehicles. With the emphasis on safety, this tyre has been engineered with new EverGrip technology to set it aside from its predecessor the Michelin Primacy 3.
Optimised sculpture and pattern design
The first feature of the EverGrip technology is an optimised sculpture and pattern design. The impact that these new features have on the tyre are better water displacement, meaning that the new sculpture that has 22% more space can clear water much more effectively, preventing aquaplaning. The optimised pattern design on the tyre also increases wet grip and handling capabilities.
MaxTouch construction
Another feature of the EverGrip is the MaxTouch construction of the tyre. This means that a maximum amount of the Primacy 4 is in contact with the road at all times. This ensures that accelerating, braking and cornering forces are distributed evenly throughout the tyre, resulting in a longer tread life.
Treadwear feature
The Michelin Primacy 4 has been built with a treadwear feature. The purpose of this feature is to indicate when you have worn the tyres out to the point where they are unsafe and need changing.
This pattern may be suitable as Original Equipment for a number of different car manufacturers. If you are unsure what the symbols mean within the tyre search results, please head over to our tyre symbols guide.

Vehicle was factory fitted with Primacy 3 tyres. The New Primacy 4 look like they have an improved tread for wet weather. Days after fitting them drove back from Lake District in torrential rain. Tyres behaved well.

Switched from Premacy 3 which now seem to have been a bit hard, the P4 seems "nicer" drive
The Premacy 3 tyres had done 40K miles!! but already I can see a 10% drop in fuel economy on the new Premacy 4, I suspect faster wear rate as well.

The noise level mentioned below has coloured everything. They were selected because of the low noise level.
These tyres were supposed to be 69 decibels as opposed to my previous ones of 70, which I was pleased with. These are noisy and disappointing. I have spoken to Michelin who informed me I should return to the fitter and ask for inspection. This I did but was told all I could do was fit another set of tyres and the original would be sent back to Michelin, which as a pensioner, I cannot afford. I have always had Michelin and been very pleased with them - but not these. My first set of tyres was Michelin X.
