What is an Air Conditioning Diagnostics Check?
Do you think that there is a fault with your air conditioning? Are you looking for a Full Service of your car or van's air conditioning? If so, then we are here to help. Before a Full Air Conditioning Service is undertaken on your vehicle, we will need to carry out an Air Conditioning Diagnostic Check. This is a legal requirement to check your system for any leakage or faults.
An air conditioning diagnostics check is a pre-service inspection which is undertaken before a full air conditioning service (including an air con regas/recharge). Two essential checks are carried out, with both the temperature and refrigeration being inspected. A leak test is then conducted (using nitrogen), as well as a thorough inspection of all key components such as the condenser, compressor, drive belts and hoses.
Please note: Air con diagnostic check is only available at selected garages. Once you have added the service to basket you will be able to see available locations and choose a date & time that is convenient for you.
What happens if a fault is found?
If a fault is found during the air conditioning diagnostics check, a branch member will discuss this with you and provide you with a free no obligation quotation to fix the repair. If no leaks or faults are found during the air con diagnostics check, then your vehicle will now be ready for a full air conditioning service.
A full air conditioning service includes an air conditioning recharge/regas, as well as replacing and recharging refrigerant and lubricant levels in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendation.
We offer two different types of full air conditioning service (using either the R134a refrigerant or the newer R1234yf refrigerant), which can be purchased while you are at the branch after the completion of an air conditioning diagnostics check. Please discuss this with the branch staff on the day of your appointment.
