The Michelin Pilot Sport tyre raises the bar on comfort and tread life in a tyre designed to help you get the most out of your ultra-high performance sports car. The Michelin Pilot Sport is a summer tyre that excels on dry and wet roads while providing predictable cornering and exceptional tread stability under high torque. The Pilot Sport is Michelin's Max Performance Summer tyre developed for the drivers of exotic sports cars and ultra high performance coupes and sedans. The Pilot Sport is designed to extend vehicle capabilities in the wet, while providing progressive handling, exceptional feedback and refined road manners on dry roads. The Pilot Sport is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.The Pilot Sport molds Michelin's Advanced Technology tread compound into one of two designs. While all Pilot Sport tyres feature a continuous circumferential center rib flanked by directional tread patterns, tyres in sizes of up to 265 millimeters of section width feature a "V"-shaped pattern, while tyes of 275 millimeters of section width and wider feature a "W"-shaped tread pattern. The continuous center rib sharpens steering response and provides communicative road feel while the swept back lateral grooves efficiently evacuate water from under the contact patch to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction while reducing tyre noise on dry roads. The tyre's structure includes two belts made of high-tensile, lightweight steel cords which are further reinforced by size-optimized, spirally wrapped nylon cord utilizing BAZ (Banded At Zero) Technology to improve quick steering response and resist distortion while they enhance ride quality and high-speed durability. Ultra-reinforced sidewalls promote powerful cornering, while Michelin's cable beads help maintain the ideal shape of a running tyre for better tyre/wheel uniformity.
This pattern may be suitable as Original Equipment for a number of different car manufacturers. If you are unsure what the symbols mean within the tyre search results, please head over to our tyre symbols guide.
