The next generation of the legendary P7™ tyres - a name that has written chapters of both automotive history and rallying - Pirelli's new P7™ tyres have been developed for the high-performance saloons and estate cars of the new Millennium, to combine high power outputs with elegance and driving comfort.
An attractive asymmetrical design blends perfectly style and aggressive look, while innovative features enhance the level and duration of performance, as well as the level of active safety.
With STEP (Safety from Technically Engineered Profile) Pirelli P7™ delivers a more harmonious interaction between the various components of the tyre: the result is a new profile that reduces deformation in the critical tyre areas, producing greater reliability and structural resistance. In essence, less rigidity without reducing resistance during use and thus less wear in the critical areas.
A wider and more uniform footprint gives P7™ greater resistance to aquaplaning and a more effective response on wet surfaces. By better distributing pressures across the contact patch, P7™ optimises rolling resistance and even wear, ensuring safer performance and smoother handling: cornering is faster, steering is quicker and more precise.
With ELRR (Extra Low Rolling Resistance) system: the belting and the sidewall and carcass compounds are designed and constructed to improve flexibility and increase smoothness of roll, while overall weight is reduced, the tyre integrity optimised and both fuel consumption and atmospheric pollution contained.
Tread Pattern
Pirelli P7™ has an asymmetric design for sports driving, with wide inner ribs to improve braking and driving comfort. A combination of transverse grooves, curved and along the whole circumference of the tyre, ensure rapid water expulsion from the contact patch. A Solid outer rib and stiff shoulder are designed to absorb lateral forces and maximise grip in cornering
