(Mazda CX-5 AWD Sport)
Don't know about the grip as the weather hasn't been too bad since buying the tyres. They look nice (if that means anything) and the ride is certainly quieter. Still too early to compare tyre price versus mileage. I have noticed that the average m.p.g. has dropped from 43 to 37 since fitting these tyres so obviously safety comes at a price!
Initially I was quite happy with my purchase of 4 new tyres but......after driving for only half mile (yes half mile) from the garage there was an almighty bang and flapping noise. I pulled over as I thought that maybe I had driven over something but there was nothing in sight. Drove back to the garage and the manager said that very occasionally there is a bad tyre. The damage was a 5 cm split in the tread pattern and about 2 cm deep down to the cording. Another new tyre was needed at £135. The tyre was sent back to Pirelli who advised, via a standard letter that wasn't even signed, that they considered the damage not to be an inherent fault of their product but caused by myself and that there would be no reimbursement. I could, however, get a second opinion and if they were proved wrong they would refund the cost of the additional inspection. I wasn't prepared to risk my pension on even more expense having had to drive a 30 mile round trip twice to get my car road-worthy. This is a case of "good bye" Pirelli, never again and "hello" to Bridgestone, Continental etc. These sentiments are expressed by the rest of the family so the rotten uncaring customer relations of Pirelli has cost them 5 car owning customers.
