The Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyre offers ultra-high performance. Bridgestone S001 tyres ensure excellent safety and comfort levels to heavier ultra-high performance saloons, sports cars and supercars.
Fantastic grip levels: The Bridgestone S001 tyres exhibit an asymmetric tread pattern to deliver the perfect balance between dry handling and wet grip. The interlocking tread blocks on the outer tyre shoulder grip well on dry roads and allow for maximum handling characteristics. The continuous central circumferential rib contributes to precise steering responsiveness and heightened cornering response.
Extra driving stability: The Bridgestone S001 tyres internal structure consists of twin steel belts with nylon wrapping, which ensures high speed stability. This feature also reduces the rolling resistance, which makes fuel consumption more efficient, reducing the overall fuel costs.
Robust tyre sidewall: Active rubber inserts in the sidewall reinforces sidewall stiffness, which improves ride quality and offers greater grip when cornering. This also contributes towards increasing traction on both wet and dry surfaces, leading to greater braking responsiveness.
Protection against aquaplaning: The risk of skidding or losing control in wet weather conditions has been greatly reduced. The lateral grooves within the tread pattern help channel water away from the contact area to ensure a comfortable and stable drive.
This pattern may have options that are suited for Audi, Bentley, Ferrari, Chrysler, Porsche, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz or BMW vehicles.
This pattern may have extra-load capabilities or be available as a Run Flat. Please check for the appropriate symbols in the tyre search results.

These are an excellent, and better replacement to the original RE050A which are getting difficult to find with 84W speed rating.
Slight tyre roll when cornering quickly. Maybe needs stiffer side wall.

These tyres are very much better all round than the previous tyres I had on (Continental). I also have Bridgestones on my other car "Audi TTS" .
None so far.

Seems to be a good tyre overall, used for around 5000 miles thus far. Tread seems good so far, hopefully they last a decent length of miles. Good grip, seem great off the line and even under hard breaking they have been great.
On BMWs the outside edge seems to wear overly quickly compared to the rest of the tyre. Apparently its the way the camber is set on the front end

better wear than continental

I've bought these tyres before, as they are excellent value for money.

Ive been running previously with pilot sport 2's as per BMW recommendations. The Pilots take a lot of warming up but overall are a very good tyre except wet weather grip and poor conditions. These tyres need to be treated with respect in the wet especially cold. Loosing grip like driving on slicks and potentially lethal with over 400 hp to hand. The new tyres are a significant improvement over the Pilots in respects to sharper more lively handling. they feel more secure and certainly in the wet the Pilots are no match for the performance of these tyres. They look the business with a more extended side profile and I would give marks for visual impression of security. I would guestimate a good 30-40% grip improvement where it matters in our UK environment. Theres a lot written about tyre performance, asnd I was looking for a change to an all weather tyre. 2000 miles with the new ones, and well worth the change.
After scrubbing in (about 65-75 miles)I put the tyres though various conditions, wet, poor surfaces, motorways etc etc. They feel much lighter on the steering to the pilots and over poor bumpy surfaces takes more effort to keep a straight line. They will wander around and its noticable where the pilots kept thier line.
The tyres are quite noisy, thats the first thing i noticed and more pronounce over lesser smooth surfaces and could get annoying.
Summarily, For the UK, theyre a better overall tyre than the pilot's in the wet and by a significant margin, and thats where it counts.

Presentation, good grip in diffrent seasons
Noise level relatively high with high speed, poor resistance to aqua planning

Look good. Sporty

Good grip in both wet and dry. Handling is good. They don't tend to tramline like some tyres (Continental Sport Contact 3 were very bad).
Noise levels are quite high. Tyre is rated at 73db. Will be buying a quieter tyre next time e.g. Goodyear F1 Asy2 or maybe Avon ZZ5. Wear is poorer than I would expect for a premium tyre as well - have done <8K miles and the fronts are down to 4mm.
