17 Apr 2012
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tyres have been selected as original equipment for the Renault Clio R.S. Red Bull Racing RB7, launched in March 2012.
The sporty 200-horsepower deep-black limited edition has been developed to celebrate Renault’s Formula 1 Constructors’ title with Red Bull Racing in
2011. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with ultra high-performance Potenza RE050A tyres in size 215/40R18 89W. Around 350 Clio R.S. Red Bull
Racing RB7 hatchbacks will be produced.
“The Potenza RE050A is a great match for Renault’s Clio R.S.Red Bull Racing RB7, they share the same sporty temperament and dedication to high
performance” says Edwin van der Stad, Director Sales, Consumer Business Unit, Bridgestone Europe.
Bridgestone designed the ultra high-performance Potenza RE050A to handle the power of engines like the 200-hp Clio R.S. Red Bull Racing RB7. Its
asymmetric design, derived from Formula 1, gives balanced dynamic performance with great responsiveness, particularly on cornering, precise steering
and a high level of safety on wet surfaces. The Potenza RE050A allows the Clio R.S. Red Bull Racing RB7 to express its sporty spirit and versatility.
Bridgestone has been supplying tyres to Renault since 2004 when the B250 was chosen as original equipment for the Modus. Since then, the volume of
Bridgestone tyres supplied to Renault has kept on growing. The Potenza RE050A was also factory fitment for the Clio R.S. “Ange et Demon” edition and
Mégane R.S. Trophy in 2011.
