Countryfile star given prominent farming award

27 Jan 2012

Adam Henson

Celebrity farmer Adam Henson has been given the prestigious award of ‘Farming Personality of 2011’, sponsored by Firestone, for his services to the industry.

The prize, presented in conjunction with Farm Business Magazine, was awarded to Adam at a ceremony at the House of Commons because of his passion for farming and the work he has done to bridge the gap from 'farm to fork' - championing the Great British farmer to the country’s consumers.

Barry Coleman, Firestone’s product manager for northern Europe, who presented him with the award at the ceremony, said: “Adam has used his passion and his public profile to fight for the country’s farmers and bring their hard work, long hours, and quality produce not only to the nation’s attention but also to the supermarket shelves.

“Now, more than ever, British farming needs a champion to promote the top quality of the food it produces plus the work farmers do to protect and enhance the countryside. Adam is that man and he thoroughly deserves this recognition.”
