National Support Tyre Safety Month
20 Sep 2010
National Tyres and Autocare will support Tyre Safety Month in October again this year by offering customers free tread, pressure and general condition checks for their tyres.
This year’s campaign will reinforce the importance of well maintained tyres, particularly tyre tread, with simple advice for motorists on how to check their tyres with a 20p coin. The 20p test is a quick and simple way to indicate if tyres are safe and legal. The campaign urges motorists to regularly check their tyres, and if in doubt, to seek advice from a tyre specialist, such as National.
Safety in acceleration, braking, steering and cornering all depend on a relatively small area of tyre-to-road contact. Therefore, it is extremely important that motorists regularly have their tyres checked to ensure they are in good condition and that the tyre tread depth is above the legal limit to maximise performance and safety.
Tony Neill, Chief Executive Officer, commented “National has supported Tyre Safety Month since its inception in 2007 and is highly committed to tyre safety. By offering free checks, our customers can be confident that their tyres are performing correctly, especially during the autumn and winter months which can prove treacherous.”
To book you free tyre safety check at you local National branch, call 0800 62 66 66.
