School’s Out for National Managers

National Tyres and Autocare are proud to report that a team of their managers have recently completed a Level 5 Management Diploma. Funded by National, the students gave up their free time to take part in the course over the last year to develop and enhance their management skills.

The CMI accredited Level 5 Diploma in Management comprehensively covers the full range of management responsibilities. The first course of its kind, it is industry specific and tailored to link course topics to the workplace, thus enhancing flexibility and matching programme content directly to training needs.

The Diploma consists of tuition with eight modular work-based assignments, one of which is externally assessed, and an additional externally assessed 4,000-word project. Topics include: developing personnel and personnel performance, developing management style, effective communication and information management, managing financial and non-financial resources, managing marketing activities, planning to meet customer and quality requirements and recruitment and selection.

National is committed to investing in staff and this is one of the many opportunities that exist within the organisation to build on basic knowledge and skills and gain a leading UK qualification in management.

The team of managers, pictured here receiving their certificates from Alan Revie, Chairman and Chief Executive, were delighted to have completed the course and gain a highly regarded qualification.

Stuart Jupp, Regional Manager, commented “The course has really honed my skills as a manager, allowing me to plan, organise and time manage better and to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. It has improved my performance, which ultimately improves the service for our customers.”

All members who took part say the course has already been extremely beneficial in the work place and they would highly recommend it to others. With this endorsement, a group of twelve new managers have enrolled this year, due to complete the course in 2008.
