National Tyres sponsors Breast Cancer Care Fashion Show!

22 Sep 2006

National Tyres is this year’s sponsor of the Breast Cancer Care Scotland Fashion Show which is taking place at the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow on 28th September.

The fashion show, now in its fourth year, features models who themselves have recovered from breast cancer.

16 models from across Scotland will be transformed into stunning catwalk stars for what has become a huge and inspirational event to raise awareness and funds for the charity.

What’s the link between Breast Cancer Care and selling tyres and exhausts on the high street?

The reality is that of the one million UK customers who visit our branches every year, and indeed within our own workforce of over 1,000 people, there is a significant proportion whose lives will be touched at some point by the disease, whether directly or indirectly, as a spouse, partner, son or daughter, friend or relative.

How can you get involved?

Throughout September and October across our 28 Scottish branches you can help raise money for the charity by donating 50p when settling your bill.

The company has been involved with the charity in a fund-raising capacity for the past few years.

Comments, Alan Revie, Chairman and Chief Executive of National Tyres and Autocare: “After attending last year’s fashion show - an incredibly moving and uplifting event - it was an easy decision for us to become more involved with this year’s event by offering to become the main sponsor.

“Having experienced the effects of breast cancer in my own family, I know that the funds raised from the event will be put to good use in providing information, practical assistance and emotional support to others affected by breast cancer.”
