On holiday and stupidly caught a curb out of sight from the driving position, after changing the wheel I was directed to your depot at Totten by a passer by. Feeling slightly tense and annoyed with myself, the service could not have been better! The man serving us, Simon Hornett, confirmed he had the right size tyres, immediate relief! And then went through the aspects of the 3 brands available. I decided to have 2 as a result of his knowledge and courteous manner.

Very good. This is a small tyre fitting unit with a very personable crew. Pleasant greeting on arrival and clear information on timings etc. Had new Avon ZX7 tyres fitted and questions about it were answered with knowledge. Hearing other conversations between customers and the main staff member ( supervisor ?) I believe their experiences would be no different.

I had my car booked in for 2.00 but arrived earlier and they started on my car straight away. The gentleman who served me Cameron West was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. I had 4 tyres and brake discs fitted and this was done within 2 hours.

The branch at Portsmouth was running with just two staff and the chap on the desk said it would be a two hour wait. He was kind enough to find out if Totton Branch had a tyre available and check on their current situation with custom. Totton staff were excellent throughout the whole process.

Had a puncture this morning which resulted in a new tyre. Received excellent service from friendly staff and was back on the road within 20 minutes.

The staff were very pleasant and carried out the work very quickly and to a very good standard. Nice to see them using torque wrenches to do the final tightening of the wheel studs. I will be using them again in the future. The tyres I purchased were far cheaper than anywhere else I looked.

My first visit to 98 Commercial Rd Totton Staff were approachable n friendly but did not complete job properly (fitted by Simon Hornett, quality controlled by Jack Allen. Total cost = £91), resulting in broken new valve n flat tyre yet again by the time l drove back to London. I was stranded in London (l live in Bedford). It was very stressful as I had to call out AA thrice b4 my car was eventually towed to the next National tyre at 198 Cambridge Road Kingston-upon-Thames. Rhys, the Assistant Manager, was superb. He listened and was sympathetic n organised for my tyre to be fixed free of charge immediately. Cameron the mechanic was thorough with his work, making time to explain what was wrong. Rhys n Cameron put my faith back in National Tyres.

You have to watch them to be sure that the work is done. When I went back after 2 weeks they discover the valve is leaking. Asking them how is possible because was changed with a new one 14 days ago the were rude. Pretending that was done they said "take your car ". They forget to put the nut lid back so I've done 3 way for a job of very poor quality . Finally I had a new valve in an another work shop. Why they charge 10£ ? you can see on invoice

GREAT SERVICE
The reason that I am giving a 9 score is purely down the professionalism of the two employees at your Totton branch, who against all the odds that have been stacked up against them by being severely short staff they are managing to struggle on being friendly & providing the best possible service that they can manage. On visiting the branch last week Mike & Paul were trying to answer phones for enquires, fit tyres & exhausts & deal with customers who were all very sympathetic as apparently they usually have five staff at the branch and are left with only two now! I feel that you as a company need to address this situation for your remaining two employees. They are a credit to the company and are delivering the best service they can for you but are sorely stretched. I did let them know that I would send an email to highlight the situation from a customers observations, please be aware that both gentlemen did not bring this to my attention but I asked why there were only two fitters on shift as they were struggling to get to phones. I am also an employer & quite frankly I would never let my business become so understaffed. I think that you need to give much more support to your Totton branch as you may well end up with a workforce of zero! I am absolutely amazed that a well established company like National Tyres cannot seem to be able to a simple task of employing workers.
