James Bond to Drive the Stylish DB10
Porsche 911 will soon meet with some serious competition. The upcoming Bond flick Spectre will showcase a new Aston Martin DB10 heading towards the ultra
premium auto sector.
The manufacturer has officially declared that the Bond’s DB10 will represent the next-gen design direction for the British brand’s future models.
Specifically speaking, the DB10, rather than being a replacement for DB9, will serve as a preview for the 2017-due V8 Vantage.
The DB10, arguably the most aggressive Aston Martin till date in terms of appearance, is equivalent to the future V8 Vantage in proportions. DB10’s nose is
lower and looks different compared to conventional Aston Martins; and at the rear, the design employed is more angular and quite similar to the F-Type
Coupe from Jaguar.
Marek Reichman, the Chief Creative Officer at Aston Martin, led the DB10’s design and styling project. Design inputs from Sam Mendes, the Spectre director,
were also considered in creating the ultimate automobile for the legendary spy.
Aston Martin – Celebrating a ‘Bond’ of 50 Years
Aston Martin CEO, Dr Andy Palmer, stated that it is absolutely fitting to unveil the remarkable new sports car for the Bond in the same year in which Aston
Martin celebrates its 50-year strong relationship with 007. He added that it is great news for all those who love the Bond-Aston Martin association, and it
feels wonderful to be partnering with EON Productions once again.
Palmer expressed that he felt incredibly proud of his team members at Gaydon, who successfully conceptualised this unique project and brought it to
reality. He revealed that strictly 10 models of the bespoke DB10 sports car will be rolled off the production line.
There were rumours galore online stating that the 007 Bond in Spectre will be driving a Fiat 500 as well. However, it is now confirmed that the petite Fiat
will not feature as ‘The Bond car’ in the new movie.
James Bond, the iconic spy and a hot favourite of millions across the globe has been known to drive some of the most wonderful cars in his movies. And he
doesn’t cease to surprise the audience with some classy missile launchers planted behind his car’s fog lamps. The futuristic DB10 definitely fits the bill
and the world waits to witness it in action in the upcoming Spectre.
