    On my arrival, when one member of staff noticed that the person in reception was already dealing with a customer, he immediately came to the desk to deal with my request. Throughout the morning, the staff kept me informed by phone about what needed doing, how much it would cost and when the car would probably be ready. (You will understand that I cannot comment on the "Quality of workmanship" as it is very difficult for an ordinary motorist to judge 'car brakes'. The key thing is that they work, I feel confident driving it, and there is no screeching that you sometimes get while new pads bed in with the disks.)

    On the morning of bringing in our Honda Jazz for replacement of rear brakes, we also knew we needed all four tyres on the Grand Scenic replacing before a long trip. I had checked various websites, and tried two other tyre fitting companies by phone, but when I phoned National Tyres at Accrington, the person I spoke to quoted me a price that was higher than the website, and simply explained that although they have the tyres in stock, the branch prices cannot compete with the Internet price. I was impressed with this approach, and having used the company in June to replace two tyres on the Jazz, decided to use the online service to book the car in at Accrington to do the tyres. In all the time I have used this branch, the premises have been remarkably tidy, with no noticeable hazards left lying around (as I have seen at some workshops elsewhere), and the staff have been prompt to deal with customers arriving.

    I have used the Accrington branch of National Tyres several times in recent years for both tyres and exhausts and have on each occasion found them to be competetive, helpful and knowledgeable. I have used other organisations in the past but prefer National Tyres as i feel i can trust their advice and rely on their workmanship.
